Living Indoor Hudson River

Explore the unique environment of one of America's most historically significant tidal rivers. Horseshoes and Waterwheels
New York's Tech Valley in the 1800's
Learn about the many inventions and innovations throughout history that were developed right here in New York's Tech Valley. CMOST is proud to be partnering with the Burden Iron Works Museum and the Rensselaer County Historical Society in developing this new exhibit that runs in conjunction with the 2009 Hudson Fulton-Champlain Quadricentennial celebration.
Watershed Table
Watersheds are important because the stream running through your backyard lead to the Hudson River or another large body of water. So what you do where you live affects the water quality somewhere else! We all live downstream of someone! The Watershed Table exhibit represents the area around CMOST and the interactive table top highlights different features of the local landscape. The drawers of the exhibit are filled with different artifacts for hands on exploration!
Butterfly House
Witness the complete lifecycle of a butterfly. In the Butterfly House you are able to see the complete metamorphis of the butterfly eggs into caterpillars, watch the caterpillars create there chrysalis and finally transform into a butterfly.
CMOST's Interactive Hiking Trail!
Grab a Kline Plantasies Killitie Trail guide here or at the Front Desk and use it along with the new numbered sign posts on the trail to assist you in exploring the meadow, forest and stream habitats along this one-half mile trail.
