Sessions for each age group are held concurrently on the topic.

Winter Ecology

Adirondack Adventures

The history of the Adirondacks is full of science. How did the Adirondacks form, what natural resources are found in the Adirondacks and what New York State symbols can be found in this region.

Heart Science

What does your heart do? How can you take care of your heart- exercise and nutrition are the focus of the younger group’s activities. Older children will have an opportunity to participate in dissecting a cow heart. This hands-on experience will allow students to how an organ looks and what we can learn through a study of this organ.

The Science of Transportation

People are always looking for the best way to travel from place to place. Delve into different modes of transportation and see how things have changed. Then take part in hands-on activities to test your knowledge.

Hudson River Explorers

Pull on your boots and join us as we explore our nature trail and discover what lives in CMOST’S Backyard. Will there be invertebrates in the water? Can you hear the peepers? An opportunity to explore the natural world.

Bubble Science
Thursday, June 14

Explore the states of matter in this messy, fun end-of- the -year homeschool program. Participants are welcome to bring their picnic lunch to the museum before the program. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we can have lunch in our outdoor classroom, play with some old- fashioned wooden toys and learn about bubbles!


Registration

All home school programs are offered for children age 6-8 and 9-12. Placement in classes will be based upon the child’s date of birth. To register for a program, please call 518-235-2120 or complete the registration form below and return to CMOST. In order to ensure quality teaching and to create a conductive learning environment pre-registration is required for all Home School programs. Participants must be registered by close of business the day prior to the program. Registration is not complete without payment.  Children cannot be left unattended at The Museum under any circumstances.

  • Each additional child:            $8.00
