Parent & Me Pre-school Program
A five week session for pre-schoolers that provides parents and children ages 2 to 4 the opportunity to discover the wonders of science in an exciting and stimulating environment. All programs include arts & crafts and a pre-school educational program as well as a take-home book to continue the learning outside of The Museum. This program is funded in part by Target. Have you ever dreamt of creating your own super hero? Here’s your chance to make your dream come true! Participants will work to create a super hero concept and then make a climbing guy that can climb to the top of the museum! It’s a Gas!
Solids are slow, liquids flow & gas is fast! Come and harness the “power” of gas, create a fizzy drink, blow up a balloon and make a fountain out of regular old soda! This workshop will be a blast! CMOST Homeschool Science Lab:Stream Ecology
Join us in this exploration of stream ecology. Children will learn all about the science of ecology, study stream animal adaptations, examine the aquatic food web and conduct water tests in this hands-on ecology lab. Healthy streams are full of life. Join us on a Stream Safari and discover some truly amazing animals, like Water Pennies, Caddisflies, Dragonflies and more! Steam animals come in many shapes and sizes, but they have one thing in common; do you know what that is? Plan to get wet and have fun exploring the world of the stream. Backyard Fossils
Have you ever been on an adventure and found a rock with a weird imprint on it? What is that imprint? Join CMOST staff as we discover what those fossils are, what types you can find here in New York State and particularly in your own backyard!
