Summer Vacation Science Camps

Weekly Science Camps will be held from June 29 - September 4.

It's that time of year again - time to sign your kids up for summer science camps at CNSE CMOST! Members can register beginning on February 2 and Future Members can register beginning on February 16. Sign up to become a member today.

This year, we have camps in robotics, animation, insectology, video game creation, forensic science, and more! We are once again offering our GIST (Girls in Science and Technology) camps - look for them in the camp descriptions below.

Please Note: CNSE CMOST Members will receive a 10% registration discount on the camp price when registering multiple children, or when signing up for multiple camps. The discount is applied to each camp at checkout. This discount only applies to additional children and camps. There is no discount for the first registration. Junior Discoverer Camps


  • Lego® Builders | Session I: June 29 - July 3 & Session II: August 3 - 7
    Explore, experiment and solve problems with simple machines in this camp. This camp uses Lego© building kits.

  • Diving Into Dirt | Session I: July 6 - 10 & Session II: August 10 - 14
    Explore the animals that live under the ground, and make your own dirt soup! Each day we will examine the earth through hands-on activities such as creating models, playing games and making crafts.

  • The Science in Your Story Book | Session I: July 13 - 17 & Session II: August 17 - 21
    Campers will read stories and then conduct science experiments to examine the way that things worked within the story.

  • Eye Spy Detectives | Session I: July 20 - 24 & Session II: August 24 - 28
    This camp is an exercise in detective skills and an investigation into the science of "who done it."

  • GIST Lego® Builders | Session I: July 20 - 24
    Explore, experiment and solve problems with simple machines at a beginner's level in this camp. GIST camps are offered specifically for girls.

  • Insect Patrol | Session I: July 27 - 31 & Session II: August 31 - September 4
    Explore different insects that live around our area and many from other parts of the world. Campers will read stories, create insect crafts and participate in various insect plays in order to learn more about the insect world, life cycles and more.

  • GIST - The Science in Your Story Book | Session I: August 24 - 28
    Campers will read stories and then conduct science experiments to examine the way that things worked within the story. GIST camps are offered specifically for girls.

Senior Explorer Camps


  • Crafting a Video Game | Session I: June 29 - 3 & Session II: August 3 - 7
    Campers will use creativity and critical-thinking skills to design and build within various video game platforms and investigate the worlds of Minecraft™, Skratch and more.

  • 3..2..1.. Launch: Force, Motion, Acceleration & Gravity | Session I: July 6 - 10 & Session II: August 10 - 14
    Get ready to have a blast in this camp! Campers will investigate the physics of rockets, catapults, paper airplanes and more. We will examine the forces behind each soaring object, figure out how we can make them go faster and determine how the forces are at play in the world around us.

  • GIST - Animation Creation: Stop Motion | Session I: July 6 - 10
    Make a movie from start to finish using stop motion animation! Campers will create a storyboard, build a set, develop scene transitions, and edit a film to perfection. The GIST camps are offered specifically for girls.

    Make a movie from start to finish using stop motion animation! Campers will create a storyboard, build a set, develop scene transitions, and edit a film to perfection.

  • Lego® Robotics | Session I: July 20 - 24 & August 24 - 28
    Campers will use Lego kits to explore different scientific concepts by building an amusement park and an intelligent house of the future.

  • What's Inside | Session I: July 27 - 31 & August 31 - September 4
    In this construction/destruction camp, we will investigate engineering from the inside out. Campers will take things apart to see what is inside and discover how they can be put together again. This is a great camp for curious minds that always want to know how things work!

  • Investigations in Nanotech! | July 13 - 17
    What is nanotechnology and how does it affect us? This camp is an introduction to nanotechnology and an exploration of how the science is driving our future!

  • Museology | July 27 - 31
    Explore the behind the scenes workings of a children's science museum! This camp is an exploration of how CNSE CMOST works and will give campers the opportunity to be a part of the CNSE CMOST team.
