School Vacation Science Camps

What are you going to do when school is out?


Have some fun and join us to explore, discover and imagine the world of science during a day of camp at the CNSE Children's Museum of Science and Technology.

Each day has a science theme and is packed with experiments, projects, crafts & games.

You will also have time to explore CNSE CMOST, visit a planetarium show and meet some of the animals from Operation W.I.L.D.

School vacation science camp is run for children ages 5-11.

Children are grouped according to age.

Junior Camp

For kids 5-7

Wednesday, November 26 - The Science in a Storybook
Join us as we integrate science and reading in this storybook camp experience. The Three Little Pigs will help us to discover more about engineering and building materials, and Rapunzel will be our introduction into hydraulics!

Friday, November 28 - Wild Things Lab
Come to this camp to delve into the science behind our Operation WILD exhibit. Campers will explore our animal collection, learn what it takes to care for the animals each day and more in this wild things camp.

Monday, December 29 - "Cool" Science
Winter is here! Campers will investigate snowflakes, experiment with freezing and melting things, discover hibernation and much more in this hands-on science camp.

Tuesday, December 30 - Slime Time
Are you fascinated by all things sticky and slimy? Attend this camp to investigate the science of goo by making slime, experimenting with states of matter and more!

Friday, January 2 - Block Building, Designing and Video Game Crafting Day
An adventure into the world of video game creation and design. Campers will use creativity and critical-thinking skills to design and build within various video game platforms and investigate the worlds of Minecraft™, Skratch and more. We will cover many technology concepts and no previous experience is necessary. Campers will participate in real world building and designing challenges to compliment the video components.







Senior Camp

For kids 8-11

Wednesday, November 26 - Awe-Some Astronomy Lab
Are you interested in learning about the wonders of outer space? Join in on this special journey as we explore space, its many planets, moons, craters and other cool things! Through the course of the day, campers will create their own planets, investigate comets and more.

Friday, November 28 - Video Game Lab
In this camp participants will investigate the science of video games! They will learn how video games are created and experiment with developing their own using Scratch.

Monday, December 29 - Marvelous Machines
Investigate the work of simple machines in this hands-on day of science fun! Campers will learn about systems and experiment with assembly lines. The day will culminate in a design challenge where campers will put what they have learned to the test!

Tuesday, December 30 - Ooey, Gooey Science Lab
The world is full of many different things that are just plain weird! From snails to silly putty, erasers to glue - strangely behaving things are everywhere! Come and experiment with weird science such as Oobleck, borax crystals and much more!

CNSE CMOST Members: $40.00 per day
Non-members: $45.00 per day

Extended Camp Care:
Before Care: 8:00 - 9:00 AM
Additional fee of $6 per day per camper

After Care: 4:00 - 5:00 PM
Additional fee of $6 per day per camper

Pre-registration for Extended Camp Care is required.
Each camp includes: Educational materials, craft supplies, and instruction.
Lunch is not included
